Extends the congregation's care to marginalized persons, refugees, the sick, the disabled and the survivors of natural and human-caused disasters. This group advises the congregation on how to share financial resources with other parts of the world and with our local community. Once a year, the group invites proposals supported by at least one member of the congregation, which are reviewed on the basis of our established Policy. A call for proposals is posted on our web page in the second half of the year. Recommendations of project support are presented for approval to the Congregational Committee.

On the first Saturday of each month, members of our congregation volunteer to cook and serve lunch at a soup kitchen - "Le Jardin de Montbrillant." During the week, the "Jardin" functions with regular staff, but on weekends, the different communities in Geneva share in this service. Usually six to eight people from our congregation buy the food, arrive at the little café at 10h00 and prepare the meal. By 12 o'clock, there is a long queue of people outside, between 80 and 120 people. Some of them are homeless, some have temporary problems of some sort; others are parents with small children, but all of them need a free meal and a warm smile. By 12h45, the café is empty, and the volunteers sometimes go have a cup of coffee and visit. It is good fun to prepare the meal together and really rewarding to serve and greet our guests. If you would like to help, look for the sign-up sheet at the end of a Sunday service.
You can find the Jardin de Montbrillant very easily by going past the TGV platform in the main train station, out through the back and up some stairs. Cross over the Montbrillant road, and you will find it opposite. If you are coming by car with a load of goods for the meal, drive under the Passage des Alpes tunnel, get into the middle lane at the lights, go straight across and turn right into the parking slot, and then (carefully) turn back towards the station and, at the lights, right and into the gap next to the Jardin de Montbrillant.
